The shooting at a 24-hour deli on Montclair Avenue resulted from a dispute involving hometown rapper Fetty Wap, according to sources.
Wap and a group visited the deli and grill to purchase food when there was an attempt to rob him, according to a source
Police did not release much detail about the incident which happened little after 5 a.m. other than two people were wounded and a third who sought treatment at a hospital in Hackensack was possibly wounded in the same incident.
Police were called to a fight and possible shots fired in the area of Montclair Avenue and Paxton Street at around 5:10 a.m. The fight was called in inside the Montclair Deli. A wounded 34-year-old man from Woodland Park was found on Montclair and Paxton Street and a wounded 37-year-old Paterson man was located on Montclair Avenue and Main Street.
Both victims were taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. A short time later, police received information that a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound arrived at the Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment.
Police said the three men suffered non-fatal injuries.
Wap was not injured in the incident, according to a police source.
