The Passaic County Prosecutor Office is investigating an early Wednesday morning police-involved shooting in the area of Carroll Street and Park Avenue.
A police officer fired at a robbery suspect at around 12:15 a.m. on Park Avenue.
Authorities said no civilians or police officers were struck by the gunfire. Authorities have secured the scene and the investigation is “active and ongoing,” according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
A 16-year-old from Paterson was arrested, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities said the youth has been charged with delinquency for committing the acts which if committed by an adult would constitute robbery, weapons, and drug offenses, authorities said.
The Passaic County Superior Court’s Family Division is handling the case.
