The footbridge over the Passaic River connecting Mary Ellen Kramer Park and Overlook Park has been temporarily closed for repairs, according to an announcement by mayor Jose “Joey” Torres.

Structural engineering consultants from the Passaic Valley Water Commission are working on a temporary support system to re-open the bridge within a short period of time, announcement read.

“We anticipate this to be short-term,” Torres said in his announcement Tuesday. The bridge is owned by the Passaic Valley Water Commission.

Visitors to the Great Falls should use the Wayne Avenue bridge to move between Overlook Park to Mary Ellen Kramer Park.
