A teenager was wounded in a shooting on Jefferson Street early Thursday evening, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities said the 18-year-old man was struck by gunfire at around 8:17 p.m. outside of 57 Jefferson Street.
Police arrived on report of gunfire in the area, but could not locate a victim. Shortly thereafter, a police officer located the victim traveling in a vehicle on North 1st Street.
The victim was escorted to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment, authorities said.
Detectives continue to investigate the incident.
