The city’s police are investigating a shooting on the corner of Carroll and Governor streets, four blocks away from School 6.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at around 2:53 p.m. at the intersection. A 33-year-old man from Haledon was shot in the area and arrived at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment, according to authorities.
Schools officials said police did not require School 6 to go into lockdown. School 6 lets out students later than other schools, according to officials.
Detectives blocked off the area around the scene of the shooting.
