The annual Christmas tree lighting and winter wonderland event at City Hall is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 2, 2017.
Event runs from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Santa Claus will be on hand to listen to youngsters’ Christmas wishes and for free pictures.
Children can write and deliver their letters to Santa directly to his Elf on the Shelf.
There will also be face painting, candy making, and games. Holiday characters including those from Paw Patrol and Chase will be present at the event.
Children will also be able to ride a holiday trackless train with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Departing riders will witness a holiday car display with festively decorated vehicles.
A live ice carving demonstration will take place at 5:30 p.m. Families can pose next to it to capture memories.
At 6:30 p.m., Paterson youngsters will put on a holiday caroling and dance performance.
Mayor Jane Williams-Warren will light the Christmas tree.
The event also has raffles.
A bundled Xbox One S will be raffled off by the Downtown Paterson Special Improvement District. Three $100 Price Rite gift cards will be raffled by Center City Mall.
Every child under 18 will be given a free raffle ticket. Five raffle tickets will be given to any child whose parent presents a downtown Paterson store receipt from that day.
The event is sponsored by downtown Paterson businesses and merchant. It is also sponsored by the Silk City Riderz Car Club and the Paterson Police.
