A man struck by a train and thrown into the Passaic River was pulled out of the water on Monday afternoon.
Firefighters brought the victim out of the river by East 13th Street and 4th Avenue. He was rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities have not released information about the incident.
Police received report of a man screaming for help in the Passaic River at around 5:45 p.m. He struck by a freight train on the Susquehanna railway and thrown into the river, according to sources.
A firefighter sustained an injury while pulling the victim out of the water. The injured firefighter was taken to the hospital for treatment.
