Man killed in Paterson shooting on 12th Avenue

A city man was killed in a shooting on Monday night on 12^th Avenue, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police responded to report of a shooting in the area of 327 12^th Avenue at around 8:40 p.m. A man was found with gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The victim’s name has not been released.

Authorities ask anyone with information to contact detectives at 973-321-1120.

  Not drug or gang related.. Everything that happens is not always that… If people dont like your looks or want your girl. They murder you. What about the people that work and have to walk through to get home and get caught in the cross fire. No disrespect stop being that way all things dont happen because of gangs or drugs. what do people expect hanging out in the streets ? the only results you will get is death, hospital, or jail. and yet from all the tragedies that occur in the “hood” they still be out there.

  Instead of thinking you know what youre talking actually speak facts. He wasnt "hanging out in the hood" he went in the store , walked out and got hit by a stray bullet intended for someone else. Even though thats no better dont just speak what you think you know. Have a blessed day

My man just got home from work I work with him…it's sad he had a baby coming and all that and was putting them ot hours to support him family all I can do is pray God takes care of his family

I thought this was a world were you can go werever you want and not have to be afraid to be there .. Now a days people are scared to go to the store or have a conversation with someone in the streets even afraid to go out after 6 whats wrong with this world the devil is snatching our young men getting into their minds . people pray.
