A man was struck and killed by a passenger train in Paterson on Saturday afternoon.

The victim described as a “trespasser” was fatally struck on the train tracks near 114 Fair Street at around 2:10 p.m.

New Jersey Transit Police were at the scene investigating the incident.

The fatality led to the suspension of train service in both directions between Ridgewood and Kingsland.

Service resumed at around 4:15 p.m.
