The Paterson Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is providing access to an warming center for those in need of a place to keep warm from the frigid temperature.
Those in need of assistance are asked to contact the police department at 973-321-1111.
“Due to the high cold temperatures, many city residents have lost heat and suffered weather-related damages to their homes,” mayor Jane Williams-Warren said. “We take the current extreme weather condition very seriously and would like to offer those families affected by this cold-wave, to our Welcoming Center, which offers residents a safe and family-oriented, environment.”
Paterson temperature for Saturday is expected to be -2.
“No one should be out there suffering for fear they will not be in a safe-place,” the mayor said.
