The school board is taking applications to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Christopher Irving.

Candidates are being asked to submit a letter and a resume. School board members will interview candidates on Monday, Jan. 29, 2018 to appoint a replacement.

Irving resigned on Wednesday to take a job at the New Jersey Department of Education.

The appointed replacement will serve on the board until the 2019 reorganization meeting.

A special election will be held in November 2018 for voters to pick a candidate to serve out the remainder of Irving’s unexpired term. Winner of the election for the unexpired term will be sworn in during the board’s 2019 reorganization meeting.

The district has to receive the application letter with resume by 4 p.m. on Jan. 29, 2018. Letters should be addressed:
