The owner of an industrial building on George Street has been approved for a $32,539 refund following a tax appeal.
Municipal officials also agreed to reduce the tax assessment for 64-92 George Street owned by R L Realty Co. from $2.49 million to $1.7 million.
The property’s owner appealed the building’s 2015 assessment in state tax court. The structure is a complex made up of six buildings, according to municipal records.
The property was assessed “in excess” of it’s fair market value, according to city records. A resolution was passed last week approving the refund.
