Union City man guilty of stabbing Paterson teen to death

A man from Union City was found guilty of first-degree murder in the 2015 stabbing of a Paterson teenager on Tuesday, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Samuel Rua III, 33-year-old, was convicted of first-degree murder and several weapons offenses by a jury following a day of deliberations.

Rua faces 30 years to life in prison for murder, authorities said.

Rua stabbed to death Nadjhier Barner-Timmons, 17, of Paterson, on April 25, 2015 at the train tracks by East 26^th Street and 18^th Avenue in Paterson, authorities said.

Barner-Timmons and Rua had walked together to the area.

Police arrested Rua the next month on East 26^th Street between 19^th Avenue and Market Street.

Sentencing for Rua is scheduled for April 27, 2018. He has been remanded to the Passaic County Jail after his $1 million bail was revoked by Passaic County Judge Sohail Mohammed.

30 years ? if he took someones life his life should be taken also. i garuntee you that if the death penalty was an enforced penalty in the whole united states the crime rate would go down. only if you are defending yourself from a deadly situation then you can take action.
