The police arrested 33 alleged prostitutes and johns in a sweep throughout the city on Thursday, according to police director Jerry Speziale.
Authorities picked up 22 women. 17 of the women are from Paterson and 5 from Little Falls, Elmwood Park, Bergenfield, West New York, and Vineland.
10 johns were arrested. 6 are from Paterson, 2 from Clifton, 1 from the Bronx, and 1 from Garfield, authorities said.
Authorities said a Totowa man posed as a female prostitute and solicited a police officer. Police used under cover detectives to conduct the sweep.
