Four people were hurt, including a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old, in a shooting on Mercer Street late Wednesday night, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police responded to report of a shooting on Mercer and Franklin streets at around 11:40 p.m. A short time later four victims arrived at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center seeking treatment for gunshot wounds.
Authorities said a 20-year-old Paterson man and a 20-year-old Paterson woman were injured in the shooting. A 14-year-old and a 17-year-old were also struck by gunfire.
All are being treated for non-fatal gunshot wounds, authorities said.
Police haven’t released information about the circumstances that led to the shooting. Authorities said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Earlier in the night, a 57-year-old woman, was shot on 12th Avenue.
