The city’s school district will have early dismissal on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, first day of school, due to the expected high temperatures.

Students will be let out at 1:10 p.m. Teachers and staff will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m., according to the district’s announcement.

Temperatures tomorrow are expected to be over 90 degrees. Some of the city’s old schools lack air conditioning. In some classrooms temperature soars above 100 degrees.

District offices will remain open. Principals will remain at the school until all students are picked up.
