The police have identified the man killed in a double shooting on 16th Avenue early Wednesday evening.

Lexander Torres, 23, of Paterson, was found lying on the sidewalk of East 18th Street near 16th Avenue from an apparent gunshot wound at around 7:15 p.m., according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Medical personnel pronounced Torres dead at the scene.

A second victim, 24-year-old Eric Polanco of Paterson, was taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

Polanco sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the incident, authorities said. He was treated and later released.
