Paterson police arrest two in 21st Avenue drug bust

A city pair was arrested in a drug bust on 21st Avenue and Straight Street with heroin and marijuana, according to police.

Edwin D. Garcia, 28, and Sherlentina Guzman, 26, were charged with eight drug offenses last Thursday, police said.

Police confiscated 84 glassine envelopes of heroin, 1 cup and 1 bag of marijuana, and $1,697 in cash. $1,557 from Garcia and $140 from Guzman.

Police said both reside at an apartment at 220 Straight Street.

    The drug war will never be won.
    Every day there is an arrest, you drive and boardway in Paterson and you see the impact the drugs have in these people lives.
    I am not sure if all hope is gone but we must wonder.
