The police arrested six people, seized heroin, and a handgun during a raid at a 12th Avenue house late Friday afternoon, according to police director Jerry Speziale.
Police raided both floors of 160 12th Avenue at around 5:31 p.m. after getting complaints of drug dealing out of the property.
Detectives confiscated 63 glassine envelopes of heroin, a Taurus Millennium 9mm handgun, two 12 round capacity magazines, four .44 magnum hollow point rounds, several .380 and 9mm caliber rounds, and drug paraphernalia.
Police arrested Tyheem Mayfield, 26, of Paterson; Robert Wilson, 54, of Paterson; Shiraz Chohan, 29, of Boonton; Pearlshiya Bland, 19, of Passaic City; 17-year-old Paterson boy; and Dwayne Northern, 33, of Paterson.
Mayfield and the 17-year-old reside on the second floor of 160 12th Avenue. Each was charged with numerous narcotics and weapons offenses. Charges included drug possession, distribution, possession of drug paraphernalia, high capacity magazines, hollow point rounds, and receiving stolen property.
Mayfield is also charged with certain persons not to have a firearm.
Northern is charged with four drug offenses, resisting arrest, and obstructing a governmental function.
Chohan and Wilson were each charged with heroin possession.
Police confiscated $567 from Mayfield, $208 from the boy, and $65 from Northern.
