Ten streets will be closed or have no parking from May 20-23 due to the filming of the movie “Newark” and the television series “The Plot Against America.”
Filming of “Newark” will take place on Market Street between Mill and Cianci streets from 2-8 p.m. It will include halting vehicular traffic at intersections while scenes are shot and releasing traffic while scenes are reset.
The following streets will have no parking on Monday, May 20, 2019 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.:
- Market Street between Mill Street and Cianci Street
- Cianci Street between Market Street and Elm Street
- Mill Street between Market Street and Ward Street
- Jersey Street between Market Street and Oliver Street
- Oliver Street between Spruce Street and Jersey Street.
Motorists who park in the area are being asked to use the nearby Paterson Parking Authority lot.
Filming of “The Plot Against America” will take place on Ellison and Washington streets, near City Hall – some streets will be closed while others will have no parking.
The following streets will be closed and have no parking on Monday, May 20 from 11 p.m. through Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 6 a.m.:
- Colt Street between Market Street and Ellison Street
- Washington Street between Van Houten Street and Market Street
- Ellison Street between Main Street and Church Street.
Municipal employees who park in the Ellison Street lot are being asked to use the Paterson Parking Authority lot on Veterans Place behind the Chase Bank on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The following streets will have no parking on Monday, May 20 from 11 p.m. through Thursday, May 23 at 6 a.m.
- Van Houten Street between Church Street and Washington Street (one side — follow posted signs). Van Houten Street may also have intermittent closures mid-day on Tuesday and Wednesday for scene shooting.
- Church Street between Market Street and Van Houten Street (one side – follow posted signs).
