Six people were injured in three separate shootings early Saturday morning, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities said five men and a woman were struck by gunfire in a violent 1-hour and 16-minute span in Paterson.
First shooting took place on Summer Street and Godwin Avenue at around 3:50 a.m. Police arrived at the scene on report of a shooting and located three victims, a 26-year-old woman, a 43-year-old man, and a 29-year-old man, all Paterson residents.
Police said the victims sustained non-fatal gunshot wounds and were rushed to St Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.
Second shooting happened at 67 Carroll Street, .2-mile from the first shooting scene, at around 4:44 a.m. Police were investigating a shooting that took place earlier on Summer Street and Godwin Avenue, when officers heard gunfire nearby.
A 23-year-old Paterson man suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound was located and taken to hospital, authorities said.
Third shooting took place on 12th Avenue and East 23rd Street, almost a mile away from the first shooting, at around 5:06 a.m. Police were advised two victims, a 34-year-old Paterson man and a 25-year-old Garfield man, arrived at St Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, seeking treatment for non-fatal gunshot wounds.
