The M&T Bank donated $30,000 to Oasis, a charity that provides services and resources to women and children in need, on Thursday.
Funds will be used to support the expansion of the nonprofit organization.
“We are proud to support Oasis in their mission to break the cycle of poverty and improve the lives of women and children,” Tom Comiskey, regional president for M&T Bank, said. “As Paterson’s community bank, we are committed to supporting and strengthening the organizations that enable our neighborhoods to thrive.”
Oasis has been on a mission to raise $6 million for a building project to expand its footprint in Paterson.
Expansion will let the nonprofit serve more women and children by offering educational classes, social services, after-school programming, and childcare.
Headquartered on Mill Street, Oasis serves 1,000 individuals per day.
