An alleged member of the 230 Boyz gang has been indicted for allegedly selling heroin and fentanyl that resulted in the overdose death of a New Jersey resident, according to federal authorities.

Wyzier Peterson, 22, of Paterson, was previously charged with federal drug offenses. He is also charged with two additional sales of heroin and fentanyl. Authorities said he conspired to distribute at least 40 grams of fentanyl and at least 100 grams of heroin.

Peterson and other members of the 230 Boyz street gang that operates in the area of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Godwin Avenue allegedly conspired to deal drugs, including heroin and deadly fentanyl, from September 2018 through July 3, 2019. Law enforcement agents conducted numerous controlled drug purchases, recorded telephone calls, text messages, and conducted physical surveillance to break up the drug-dealing gang.

Peterson faces life behind bars if convicted, authorities said.
