A Clifton man has been arrested for allegedly making threats to harm the Paterson police chief and strike the Frank X. Graves Public Safety and City Hall buildings, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.
Stefan Keco, 28-year-old, was identified as the alleged actor making the threats, police said. Police added barricades at the Frank X. Graves Public Safety and extra security at City Hall following the threats.
Keco was arrested at around 6 p.m. on Friday. He was charged with two counts of threats and bias intimidation, authorities said.
Detectives worked with the FBI and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office to make the arrest.
“Our new police chief has a very demanding job and the last thing he needs is his life threatened. I commend our department for swiftly apprehending the suspect and ensuring our chief’s safety,” mayor Andre Sayegh said.
