A Clifton man has been arrested for allegedly making threats to harm the Paterson police chief and strike the Frank X. Graves Public Safety and City Hall buildings, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Stefan Keco, 28-year-old, was identified as the alleged actor making the threats, police said. Police added barricades at the Frank X. Graves Public Safety and extra security at City Hall following the threats.

Keco was arrested at around 6 p.m. on Friday. He was charged with two counts of threats and bias intimidation, authorities said.

Detectives worked with the FBI and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office to make the arrest.

“Our new police chief has a very demanding job and the last thing he needs is his life threatened. I commend our department for swiftly apprehending the suspect and ensuring our chief’s safety,” mayor Andre Sayegh said.

This article should have said how and what were the threats. In America you could speak your mind on your beliefs as long as you dont threaten harm against anyone.

Apparently, the threats were serious enough to rise to an indictable offense. I've lived in Paterson since 1961, and this is the first time I recall the police chief being threatened in this manner. If he's found guilty, I hope that his motivation for these threats are made public. May God forgive him.

What this Mayor did was wrong and bias. Firing one chief who was mostly loved by all for another replacement probably because of his religion is wrong. So now Paterson is paying 2 salaries for this one position. Paterson is paying the ex chief over 250k per year and another 250k for.this new chief. Is Paterson in the position to be paying over 500k for this position. No violence should ever be done or even mentioned when you disagree. Simply inform the readers of the injustice and vote these corrupt,.racist, bias politicians out of office. Problem is the average IQ in Paterson is extremely low.and lack common sense.
