The police arrested five people, two alleged drug dealers and three buyers, and seized two handguns and an assortment of drugs, during a raid on Van Houten Street on Monday, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Police arrested Anthony A. Davis, 24, of Paterson; Tyquawon Davis, 35, of East Orange; Fernando Hernandez, 65, of Paterson; Christopher Durfee, 35, of Ramsey; and Victor Quintero, 48, of Paterson, during the raid at 301 Van Houten Street.

The alleged dealers Davis and Davis were each charged with numerous drugs and weapons charges. The alleged buyers Hernandez, Durfee, and Quintero were each charged with drug possession.

Police recovered a .45 caliber Colt Rail-gun loaded with 8 rounds, a 9mm Taurus Millennium G2 handgun loaded with 21 rounds, police said. Police seized 161 bags of heroin, 175 vials of crack cocaine, 3 bags of marijuana, 25 Xanax pills, and drug paraphernalia. Police confiscated $1,521 in suspected drug proceeds.
