A Montclair CVS has donated Easter candy to the children’s ward at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.
Children received Reese’s, Dover, Ghirardelli, Hershey’s, and other favorite candies for Easter.
“I’m really proud that our team is able to support these organizations at this time, CVS hopes this small act of kindness will spread springtime cheer and brighten the days of the communities in which we serve,” said Karen Yuen, district leader for CVS, on Friday.
Candy was donated by the CVS located at 565 Valley Road in Upper Montclair. CVS officials launched a $5 million nationwide effort to give out seasonal treats to local community organizations like hospitals, food banks, senior centers, and youth programs across the country to help families celebrate Easter.
“Many won’t be partaking in their usual holiday celebrations with family and friends,” said George Coleman, senior vice president of merchandising at CVS Health, said. “We hope this small gesture will help put a smile on people’s faces.”
CVS has been surprising home prescription delivery and drive-thru customers with spring-themed greeting cards to brighten up their day amid the coronavirus pandemic.
