The owner of a Paterson car wash has been charged with allegedly violating emergency orders by opening his business amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, according to authorities.

Jeffrey Hernandez, 32-year-old, of Paterson, was charged on Wednesday for violating emergency orders at the BWT Shine 4 Less on East 27th Street.

Hernandez was open for business and had employees washing cars by hand, police observed, authorities said.

Violators of the emergency orders face possible six months in jail and $1,000 fine.
