Paterson has 2,566 total coronavirus infections with 63 deaths

The number of people tested positive for the new coronavirus increased by 76 to 2,566 in Paterson on Friday afternoon.

Municipal data shows 63 people have died from Covid-19 in Paterson. Among the deceased is former councilman Ed Cotton, who died early Friday morning following a more than week-long battle with the virus. He was 72 years old.

Paterson has the largest outbreak in Passaic County. Clifton has the second biggest outbreak with 1,275 infections and 37 deaths.

Passaic County has 7,604 confirmed cases with 221 deaths. Overall, New Jersey had 78,467 infections with 3,840 deaths on Friday.
