A man from Sayreville was arrested in Paterson on Tuesday for alleged possession of a semi-automatic handgun, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Evan Blozen, 19-year-old, has been charged with possession of a weapon, possession of high capacity magazine, and possession of hollow point ammunition.

Police arrested Blozen on Pearl Street near Carroll Street at around 10:20 p.m. Police had received a report of an armed suspect in the area.

Blozen was arrested without an incident.

The handgun is being sent to the New Jersey State Police Ballistics Laboratory for analysis to determine whether it was used in other crimes.
