The number of people tested positive for the new coronavirus in Paterson increased by 40 to 5,612 on Sunday afternoon, according to municipal government data.

Two new deaths were reported on Sunday, bringing the total to 269.

Paterson has the largest outbreak of the virus in Passaic County.

Passaic County has 14,543 infections with 744 deaths. Overall, New Jersey had 138,532 cases with 9,255 fatalities on Sunday.
