Paterson reports 11 new coronavirus cases. Total infections stand at 6,179 with 308 deaths.

Health officials reported 11 new coronavirus cases in Paterson on Monday afternoon bringing the total case count to 6,179.

Data shows daily new cases of the virus has been steadily declining since the beginning of May. Over the past several days daily case counts have dramatically fluctuated. For example, on Saturday the city reported just 6 cases, but on Sunday daily new cases spiked to 54. On Monday, daily case figure dropped again to 11.

A three-day moving average of new cases provides a more accurate picture of the pandemic in Paterson. The three-day moving average on Monday was 23. At the peak of the pandemic in Paterson the three-day moving average was 216, according to data.

No new deaths were reported on Monday. Paterson has 308 fatalities from Covid-19.

The city’s four coronavirus testing sites will re-open for residents on Tuesday.

Paterson has the largest outbreak of the virus in Passaic County.

Passaic County has 15,774 infections with 891 deaths. Overall, New Jersey has 155,092 cases with 11,144 fatalities.
