A city teen was arrested on Saturday for alleged possession of a handgun, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Memphis Morales, 18-year-old, was charged with possession of a weapon without a permit, possession of a high capacity magazine, and resisting arrest by flight.

Morales evaded police on Tuesday as they chased him for allegedly having a gun in his possession. Police said he threw the 9mm handgun with high capacity magazine while officers were chasing him.

Police recovered the weapon but failed to catch him.

On Saturday, police observed Morales at the intersection of North Main and Jefferson streets at around 5:10 p.m.

Police arrested him without an incident.

Morales was wearing the same clothing that he had on four days earlier that allowed police to identify him.
