Paterson police issued 865 summonses in Fourth of July weekend operation

The police issued 865 summonses during the Fourth of July weekend, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Police issued 527 summonses for loud music, fireworks, public drinking, and blocking passageway to business and 338 summonses for motor vehicle violations.

Speziale said police seized seven guns and 137 rounds of ammunition during the operation from July 2 through July 5. He said police confiscated 102 boxes or 3 van loads of firecrackers during a bust.

Police seized $20,992 in suspected drug proceeds and an assortment of drugs.

Police seized 3,246 packets of heroin 250 Xanax tablets, 131 grams of cocaine, 108 vials of crack cocaine, 109 grams of crack cocaine, 153 Oxycodone tablets, 1.5 pounds of marijuana, 150 Percocet tablets, 15 suboxone strips, 100 Ambien, and 7 marijuana vape cartridges.

18 people were nabbed in the operation, police said.

    The mayor is not letting up, at some point these drug dealers will move to another city.. Passaic was just like Paterson now it cleaned up and functioning like a good city.
