Paterson shut down three bars during Fourth of July weekend

The police closed down three bars, including one twice, during the Fourth of July weekend, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Spezile said the bars were allegedly violating governor Phil Murphy’s Covid-19 executive order.

On July 2, police cited Diana’s Bar at 235 Grand Street. The bar was issued 2 ordinance violations and 8 liquor violations.

On the same day, police cited Mi Pueblo Bar at 62 4th Avenue. It was issued 4 ordinance violations and 8 liquor violations.

Police shut down the same bar, Mi Pueblo Bar, again on July 3. It was issued 4 ordinance and 9 liquor violations.

On July 4, police cited the Bacchus Entertainment also known as Casa Nova Bar & Lounge at 176 Union Avenue. It was issued 8 ordinance and 14 liquor violations, police said.

    Law and order? This governor is acting like a dictator. Civil disobedience is recommended we need to resist unlawful orders. These people have families and need to support them.
