A man jumped to his death on Wednesday night after allegedly stabbing a woman in a domestic violence incident at a residence on Cianci Street, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Esaul Morales, 38-year-old, of Paterson, allegedly assaulted the 26-year-old city woman in a domestic dispute. She was found suffering from stab wounds when police responded to the residence at around 9:30 p.m.

Morales allegedly inflicted the injuries on the woman and then jumped from the roof of a nearby building.

Police found him lying dead on the ground.

Authorities said the investigation remains active and ongoing, but no additional suspects are being sought.

Authorities described the incident as an “attempted murder and suicide.”
