Man becomes 10th person shot in Paterson in six days

A city man was wounded in a shooting on West Broadway early Wednesday morning, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victim, 34-year-old, arrived at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center at around 1:41 a.m. seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Police believe the victim was struck by gunfire in the area of West Broadway and Belmont Avenue. He became the 10th shooting victim in Paterson in the past six days as violence rages in the streets.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, authorities said. Anyone with information is asked to call the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342.

    The police only show up for the major crimes. when you call them for small things like loitering, loud music, drug use, fighting, they dont show up. Maybe is they started to show up for the minor issues, the shootings wouldn't occur as often because they are not allowed to escalate. Just a thought
