He was rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. His injuries are non-fatal, authorities said.

Very sad. I was in town this morning visiting a friend. I also wanted to see the BLM street art and the fire zone on Mill. I then took a quick drive through this neighborhood and was very dismayed. So many vacant houses, garbage all over. I saw a mobile police unit and a couple of cars but I really don’t know exactly what they can do between what looks like excruciating poverty, unemployment and gang related drug dealing and violence.

But wait, they painted BLM on Broadway! I guess Black Lives only matter when they are high on drugs and die from a fentanyl OD while resisting arrest?

Mr. Mayor you need to mobilize all the officers in HQ. Too many inside being lazy.

Not at all. I worked in Paterson for many years, including time on Carrol Street and 12th Avenue. Maybe having been out of the city for so long has changed my perception but I just don’t recall such a palpable sense of danger in those neighborhoods at that time.
