Two Paterson men hurt in 16th Avenue shooting

Two men were wounded in a shooting in the area of 16th Avenue early Tuesday morning, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victims, 33 and 26, both of Paterson, were struck by gunfire at around 12:48 a.m. in the area of 16th Avenue and East 18th Street.

Police located the 26-year-old man at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound. The 33-year-old victim had managed to get himself to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities said the victims sustained non-fatal gunshot injuries.

Police continue to investigate the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342.
