Passaic-County-Prosecutor

One Paterson teen has died and another was seriously injured in a crash on Route 21 North in Passaic City on Friday night, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Jasdanny Villalta, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was operating a 2011 Honda Accord near exit 11B in Passaic City when a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 49-year-old Plainfield man collided at around 10:46 p.m.

Villalta’s passenger, a 19-year-old Paterson resident survived, but suffered serious bodily injuries. Authorities said the injured passenger is receiving treatment at Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.

The Plainfield man was not injured in the crash. He remained at the scene and provided a valid license, authorities said.

Authorities continue to investigate. No charges have been filed.

Smh…typical “Dumb-in-a-cans” racing on 21. I see it all the time in Passaic with their signature Honda’s and Acura’s… never see Passaic’s “Finest” out there patrolling. Too busy writing tickets along Main and Monroe…

I would wait until facts come out before assuming, but yes.i see it all over, especially anywhere I am in Paterson.Young drivers racing all over, speeding, and their cars reek of marijuana. Often packed with other younger passengers too.Paterson does little to nothing because i see more of this by the day, not less.
