Paterson man hurt in early morning Broadway shooting


A city man was wounded in a shooting on Broadway early Saturday morning, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victim, 21-year-old, was struck by gunfire on Broadway and Main Street at around 1:45 a.m. Police arrived at the scene and were told a motor vehicle with bullet holes on the driver’s side glass fled through Church Street.

Police located the victim with a gunshot wound on Clark and Smith streets. He was rushed to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities said the victim’s injuries are not fatal.

Police continue to investigate the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342.
