Sea Bright man was robbed and shot in Paterson, police say

A man from Sea Bright was robbed and shot on Rosa Parks Boulevard in Paterson late Friday morning, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victim, 27-year-old, was struck by gunfire on Putnam Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard at around 11 a.m.

Authorities said the victim did not call police. He sought treatment at the Riverside Medical Center in Red Bank for a non-fatal gunshot wound. He was transferred to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

Red Bank police responded to the hospital and notified Paterson Police. Police believe the victim was robbed at gunpoint and then shot by the same suspect.

The victim is in stable condition.

Police continue to investigate the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342.

It’s a total bummer when you get shot when you just wanted to cop. He was licking his chops during that 90 minute drive, gets shot and didn’t even get high.

he knew the danger, no sympathy for him.
