An alleged drug dealer was arrested with hundreds of packets of heroin steps from the Danforth Memorial Library on Monday afternoon, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.
Nasir L. Davis, 21-year-old, of Paterson, has been charged with possession, distribution, distribution in a school zone, and distribution near a library. He allegedly had 840 glassine envelopes of heroin, police said.
Detectives observed Davis engage in a hand-to-hand drug transaction with an unidentified male on Broadway and Summer Street at around 12:25 p.m. The buyer quickly left the area before police could arrest him.
Davis was standing outside of 240 Summer Street when police placed him under arrest. He had 16 bricks of heroin in his possession.
