The police arrested three people, including a juvenile, for allegedly committing a series of armed robberies throughout Paterson, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.
Alexander Sami, 20, of Paterson; Jimmy German, 19, of Garfield; and 17-year-old Paterson boy, were arrested for allegedly committing four armed robberies.
Police said the three suspects allegedly began their robbery spree on Friday night.
The first robbery took place at around 6:14 a.m. on Friday. The suspects approached a victim at 434 21st Avenue and struck him about the head with a handgun, police said.
“Gimme everything you got,” a suspect said to the victim. They then proceeded to take the victim’s wallet, keys, and cellphone before fleeing the scene, police said.
The second robbery occurred on Friday at around 6:46 a.m. on 6th Avenue and East 19th Street. Suspects approached the victim and struck him about the head with a handgun and demanded wallet and cellphone. They then fled the scene, police said.
The third robbery happened also on Friday at around 7:20 a.m. at 517 East 28th Street. Suspects struck the victim about the body with a handgun and demanded his wallet and cellphone. They then fled the scene.
The fourth robbery occurred on Sunday at around 11:02 a.m. at 206 Liberty Street. Suspects approached the victim and struck him about the body with the handgun and demanded his wallet and cellphone before fleeing the scene, police said.
Police arrived at the scene and were told suspects put a weapon to the victim’s head. Police officers “saturated and locked down the area” to hunt for the suspects. All three suspects were located in a vehicle and arrested.
Sami, German, and the teen were each charged with four counts of robbery with firearm, four counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, four counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, and four counts of possession of an imitation firearm.
Sami was additionally charged with receiving stolen property. German and the boy were additionally charged with joyriding.
