The police arrested an alleged drug dealer, seizing 6,660 bags of heroin and more than $32,000 cash following a two-day investigation.
Thomas Williams, 26, of Paterson, has been charged with 16 drugs and 5 weapons offenses.
Police arrested two of his alleged buyers on drug charges.
Kevin G. Brennan, 41, of Pearl River, NY; and John A. Garulli, 34, of New Windsor were arrested during the investigation.
Brennan was charged with four drug offenses and Garulli was charged with drug possession, eluding with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest by force, and assault with motor vehicle
Detectives observed Williams engage in hand-to-hand drug transaction with Brennan at around 12:23 p.m. on Monday near McLean Boulevard and East 38th Street.
Brennan left the area and was stopped at Parkway Exit 171 Montvale Service Area. He allegedly had 110 glassine envelopes of heroin.
Detectives observed Williams engage in a hand-to-hand drug transaction with Garulli at around 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday near McLean Boulevard and East 38th Street.
Garulli drove out of the area after the alleged buy. Police tried to stop his vehicle by turning on their overhead lights and sirens, but he increased his speed and tried to flee. His vehicle allegedly struck a pursuing police vehicle. He allegedly discarded drugs from the vehicle.
New Jersey State Police and Paramus Police assisted in pulling over Garulli at the Garden State Parkway North Exit 173. Garulli allegedly refused to exit the vehicle and resisted arrest by force, police said.
Police confiscated four strips of Suboxone from him.
Detectives later obtained a warrant to search Williams’s residence at 769 11th Avenue, apartment 2B. Police seized 6,660 glassine envelopes of heroin, a bottle of promethazine, H&K P30SK 9mm handgun loaded with 10 9mm rounds and 3 hollow point bullets, and $32,800 cash.
Police lodged all three in the Passaic County Jail.
