Paterson police officer arrested on domestic violence charges

Joseph-Tuminelli

A city police officer was arrested on domestic violence charges on Thursday, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Joseph Tuminelli, who has been a police officer for six months, is accused of committing “acts of domestic violence,” according to authorities.

Tuminelli has been charged with third-degree aggravated assault, fourth-degree stalking, and the petty disorderly persons offense of harassment.

Authorities did not provide information about the victim because it’s a domestic violence incident.

Tuminelli could face a maximum of six years in state prison if convicted.

Tuminelli joined the police department in July of last year. He was suspended without pay after charges were filed against him, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Ever notice those LE license plates? “Price of Honor”. I guess that cops pay the “Price of Honor” when they get a job which allows and encourages them to beat, stalk, harass and murder regular citizens.

(I posted this earlier and has been removed. Let’s see if this sticks. The editors say they don’t mess with the comments. I wonder if hackers may be responsible for the posts they don’t like?)

Less than a year on the job and already brought up on charges. How many more will we read about in the coming months?

So is there any evidence or is it just a complaint? Remember this is still America, give everyone no matter what race,.creed, color, religion the benefit of the doubt.

So now you’re giving “benefit of the doubt” due to this clown being a cop?… But I can recall countless rants from you when the suspect is a minority…where’s the benefit of a doubt for them??

      • John

Minority? You have me confused. I am Hispanic. Difference is I don't care what color person is, unlike you.
