Paterson women hurt in Stout Street shooting

paterson-police

Two city women were wounded in a shooting on Stout Street on Wednesday night, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victims, both 28-year-old, were struck by gunfire at around 9:14 p.m. in the area of Stout and Holsman streets. Both were found suffering from gunshot wounds inside a motor vehicle in the area.

The victims were rushed to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

A preliminary investigation determined the victims were in a vehicle that was driving in the area when multiple shots were fired. The victims fled the area and pulled over on North Main and Jefferson streets, where police located them.

Police continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342.

Correction: A previous version of this report erroneously stated there was one victim when in fact there were two victims.

"Not a nice area at all. I wouldn't drive there during the day let alone at night. Perhaps they should make nice gardens, that will solve all of the problems. That's it…that's all I can think of…"

Thanks Gaucho. We'll be back after this message from our sponsor "One Paterson."

"Thanks No Ethics. Not a nice area. I wouldn't drive there during the day let alone at night. Maybe they should plant some nice gardens there and that will make things okay. Back to you in the studio."
