Paterson man hit by gunfire inside Redwood Avenue residence

A city man was wounded in a shooting on Redwood Avenue on Saturday afternoon, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victim, 44-year-old, was struck by gunfire on Redwood and Totowa avenues at around 12:11 p.m., authorities said.

Police found evidence of a crime scene at the location.

The victim was located inside a residence in the area. He sustained a non-fatal graze wound and was treated by medics after refusing to go to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

Police believe the victim was inside the residence when a bullet entered and struck him.

The shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342.
