A suspect was arrested soon after he allegedly fired a shot on Summer Street, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Ambiorix Garcia, Jr. allegedly retrieved a handgun from his waistband and fired a shot northbound on Summer Street.

Police were already in the area, at 143 20th Avenue, responding to a black Honda Civic parked in a bus stop, at around 12:05 p.m. As a police vehicle pulled along side the vehicle, word came shots were fired on 20th Avenue and Summer Street.

A police officer rapidly made a U-turn and responded to the intersection. Police observed the suspect crouching in the rear corner of 152 20th Avenue.

Garcia was placed under arrest. Police recovered his handgun in an alley between 150 and 152 20th Avenue.

Police found a shell casing where Garcia was observed crouching down.
