Five people attending a large gathering on Hillman Street were wounded early Sunday morning, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
The victims – 33-year-old woman, 36-year-old man, 28-year-old woman, 26-year-old man, and 26-year-old man, all of Paterson – were struck by gunfire on Hillman and East Main streets at around 1:38 a.m.
Police said the 33-year-old and the 36-year-old were rushed to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment while the 28-year-old refused medical attention.
The two 26-year-old victims arrived at the hospital seeking treatment for gunshot wounds. One of the 26-year-old victim is in critical condition, authorities said.
Police believe the victims were attending a large gathering at the location when an unknown actor began shooting.
Minutes earlier, a woman was killed and a man was injured in shooting on Butler Street.
