Paterson man pleads guilty to burglarizing three Prospect Park homes

Abdulla-Taylor

A Paterson man pleaded guilty to burglarizing several Prospect Park homes to support his drug habit.

Abdullah Taylor, 27, pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary. He will be sentenced to drug court or alternatively face five years in state prison under the plea deal.

Taylor admitted to breaking into three homes in Prospect Park in March during a court hearing on Thursday:

  • On March 1, 2021, Taylor burglarized 346 North 7th Street in Prospect Park. He broke into the house through the front window and stole $15,000 in cash from a dresser inside a bedroom at the house. He exited through the backdoor after snatching the cash.
  • On March 22, 2021, Taylor broke into 298 North 12th Place in Prospect Park. He stole an iPhone worth $500.
  • On March 24, 2021, Taylor entered 282 Prescott Terrace in Prospect Park through an open window. He stole two half-dollar coins and a two-tone silver and gold ring from the house.

Taylor admitted he burglarized the houses to support his drug habit. Taylor agreed to pay restitution to all the victims of the three burglaries.
